Palais-Royal OpenAir

Foto: Kamila GiedrojcPalais-Royal OpenAir is a competition which offers the winner the opportunity of a residency as well as a personal exhibition at the Peter’s Friends gallery in Paris.

We are now accepting applications form from Romanian artists. A five weeks residency starting from May 3, 2010 through to June 4, 2010 will be awarded to the Romanian winner. The application deadline is March 6, 2010. Application form can be downloaded from the Palais-Royal website.

Both emerging and confirmed professional Romanian artists are invited to propose their projects. Candidates must be under 40 years of age and must work in the field of the plastic arts. Students may apply on condition that they are in their final year of arts school. The participants are requested to prepare a complete application package.

I would be very grateful if you could disseminate the information about the competition among Romanian artists.

I was also wondering if you had a mailing list ? This is probably the best way to communicate on the project and to reach the great majority of Romanian artists.

Se cauta voluntari pentru campanie publica de mediu

Echipa Mare Nostrum cauta voluntari pentru “Campania de constientizare a populatiei cu privire la necesitatea colectarii uleiului uzat” Campania se va desfasura pe o perioada de 9 luni in localitatile: Constanta, Navodari, Eforie, Mangalia si Medgidia. Proiectul este este primul de acest fel desfasurat la nivel de Romania si urmareste sa implementeze un nou concept pe piata din Romania: colectarea uleiului vegetal uzat, ce poate fi ulterior transformat in biodiesel.
Perioada de voluntariat este 18 ianuarie – 31 iulie 2010, aproximativ 10 ore pe luna (programul este flexibil si in functie de disponibilitatea doritorilor) .
Persoanele care vor sa aplice pentru acest proiect vor avea ocazia sa lucreze intr-un mediu dinamic si vor beneficia de training de specialitate. Totodata, isi vor putea dezvolta abilitatile organizatorice si de comunicare, precum si capacitatea de a lucra in echipa. La finalul campaniei, voluntarii vor primi o scrisoare de recomandare, pe care o vor putea atasa CV-ului.
Proiectul este finantat de Guvernele Islandei, Principatului Lichtenstein si Norvegiei prin Mecanismul Financiar al Spatiului Economic European.

Ce este uleiul vegetal uzat si de ce trebuie sa il colectam?
Uleiul uzat este un deseu care ramane in urma prajirii diverselor alimente in ulei de seminte vegetale. Deoarece nu se degradeaza in timp, acest tip de reziduu este toxic pentru mediul inconjurator. In aceasta situatie, solutia pentru evitarea incidentelor ecologice este colectarea uleiului uzat.

Stiai ca un litru de ulei face ca un milion de litri de apa sa devina nepotabila, ceea ce echivaleaza cu cantitatea de apa pe care o consuma un om timp de 14 ani?

Asadar, prin aceasta campanie ne propunem sa informam si sa implicam lumea in colectarea uleiului vegetal uzat, pentru un mediu mai curat si mai sanatos.

Si tu ne poti ajuta in aceasta campanie, devenind parte a echipei noastre de voluntari.

Ce conditii trebuie sa indeplinesti?
- sa fii interesat/a de protectia mediului
- sa ai abilitati de comunicare
- sa iti placa munca pe teren
- sa manifesti responsabilitate si seriozitate
- sa te adaptezi situatiilor noi

Ce activitati vei desfasura?
- aplicare chestionare
- promovarea campaniei (prin materiale promotionale, cum ar fi fluturasi, postere, autocolante etc.)
- prezentari in scoli si licee, impreuna cu echipa Mare Nostrum
- alte activitati pe teren si/sau de birou care vor aparea pe parcurs

Ce beneficii ai?
- lucrezi intr-un mediu placut, cu o echipa dinamica
- iti construiesti noi relatii si iti faci prieteni
- participi gratuit la o sesiune de instruire pe tema comunicarii
- ai transportul asigurat pentru toate activitatile de teren
- la finalul campaniei vei primi o adeverinta care sa ateste implicarea ta si abilitatile dobandite

” Cum oare as putea / Un proiect a initia? / sau unde oare as gasi /parteneri loiali. tu stii?”

Ti-ai dori sa implementezi un proiect de democratie participativa si nu ai parteneri de incredere? sau intentionezi sa organizezi o intalnire a tinerilor cu responsabilii de politici de tineret ? LECS si Tineret in Actiune te provoaca la “Training for Action!”

“Fii schimbarea pe care vrei sa o vezi in lume!” ( Ghandi)

Crezi ca mediul in care traiesti si viata ta pot capata nuante vii si autentice? Esti deschis catre inovatie? Ai o viziune diferita asupra societatii? Vrei sa fie altfel? Inca nu stii de unde si cum sa pornesti?

Pentru ca impartasim entuziasmul si aspiratiile tale,  Liga pentru Educatie, Cultura si Sport (LECS) si Tineret in Actiune vin alaturi de tine prin programul “Training for Action”!  Suntem tineri, pentru tineri! Pregatiti sa cautam impreuna cu tine o directie potrivita pentru dezvoltarea ta.

“Training for Action” este un program de dezvoltare, care se adreseaza liceenilor bucuresteni cu varste intre 16 si 18 ani. Scopul programului este constientizarea de catre acestia a capacitatii fiecarui individ de a influenta schimbarea, lasand la o parte indiferenta si sentimentul de neputinta.

Sesiunile de training contin teme variate: de la abilitati de comunicare, leadership personal, orientare in cariera si  in voluntariat, pana la antidiscriminare, interculturalitate, cetatenie globala si relatia cu mediul. Cursurile sunt originale, diferite de sistemul traditional de invatamant. Sunt create special pentru tine, folosind metode non-formale, interactive si participative: simulari, jocuri, prezentari interactive, activitati de autocunoastere si relationare, workshop-uri creative, provocari si surprize.

Beneficiile tale

In cadrul cursurilor vei putea sa:

• intri in contact cu educatia non formala;
• iti dezvolti abilitatile de comunicare si leadership personal;
• iti dezvolti increderea in tine si sa acumulezi experiente valoroase;
• gasesti resurse pentru a transforma viata ta si lumea din jur;
• iti faci cunoscute ideile;
• cunosti tineri ca tine, oameni care impartasesc valori si principii asemanatoare;

Proiectul Leonardo da Vinci “Key to mobility”

Societatea Romana pentru Educatie Permanenta recruteaza voluntari in randul profesorilor din liceele vocationale (scoli de arte si meserii) pentru implicare in cadrul unui proiect european.

Proiectul Leonardo da Vinci, “Key to mobility”, coordonat de Internationaler Bund Verbund Wuerttemberg, Germania doreste sa instruiasca profesori in vederea sprijinirii tinerilor dezavantajati sa isi insuseasca competentele cheie necesare in economia globala, in special in contextul unei mobilitati crescute pe piata muncii.

Beneficiile profesorului voluntar:
Participarea la 3 cursuri internationale de formare in Stuttgart, Germania (februarie 2010), Lisabona, Portugalia (iunie 2010) si Olanda (noiembrie 2010).
Toate cheltuielile vor fi decontate: transport avion, transport intern in Romania (pentru cei ce nu sunt din Bucuresti), transport intern tara de destinatie, diurna.

Obligatiile profesorului voluntar:
- Organizarea a 3 seminarii de multiplicare a cunostintelor acumulate la cursurile de formare cu 18-20 profesori din Romania (6-7 profesori la fiecare seminar).
- Organizarea de seminarii de formare cu tineri dezavantajati cu varste intre 16 si 25 de ani (fara calificare sau calificare scazuta, care au nevoie de integrare pe piata muncii). Vor trebui implicati 10-12 tineri. Aceste seminarii poti fi tinute atat de profesorii voluntari, cat si de cei care au participat ulterior la seminariile de multiplicare.

Profesorii interesati sunt rugati sa trimita la adresa de email office(at)srep. ro pana pe 15 Ianuarie 2010:
- o scrisoare de intentie (email) in care sa specifice daca au posibilitatea sa organizeze seminariile pentru profesori si pentru elevi in liceele in care lucreaza (in afara orelor de program);
- CV-ul;
- o scurta descriere a liceului la care lucreaza.

In luna noiembrie s-a lansat proiectul „Key to Mobility” (LdV-TOI) (Key competences as the key to achieving unhindered access to mobility for youth at risk, unde promotorul este Internationaler Bund Verbund Wuerttemberg, Germania, avand parteneri din Olanda, Belgia, Portugalia si Romania.
La inceputul lunii decembrie a fost primul meeting la Stuttgart, Germania, al partenerilor din proiect.
Asa cum este subliniat in analiza nevoilor, tanara generatie a Europei trebuie sa detina calitatile si competentele necesare pentru a face fata provocarilor economiei globale. Mobilitatea va deveni din ce in ce mai importanta. Tinerii dezavantajati, cu dificultati in invatare, care s-au deplasat (au migrat) dintr-un loc in altul si au intampinat dezavantaje sociale, trebuie sa faca fata obstacolelor si barierelor in ceea ce priveste mobilitatea. Trebuie sa isi insuseasca competentele cheie necesare mobilitatii prin training si educatie vocationala. Pe de alta parte, profesorii si trainerii care ar putea sa actioneze drept promoteri ai mobilitatii duc lipsa de cunostintele necesare si de stimulii care i-ar putea face sa actioneze astfel. Vor invata ei insisi despre mobilitate. Prin intermediul proiectului, profesorii vor trai propria experienta legata de mobilitate si vor dobandi cunostintele necesare pt a deveni „traineri de mobilitate” si pt a sustine si a invata studentii dezavantajati, adoptand metodele potrivite.
Dupa training profesorii vor fi capabili sa indemne studentii in a-si insusi noi indemanari si cunostinte, ii vor ajuta sa acceseze programe de mobilitate care sa creasca rata de angajare a studentilor dezavantajati, ducand la integrarea acestora pe piata muncii. In plus, experientele legate de mobilitate vor aduce studentilor noi competente cheie (prioritatea europeana 5).
Tinerii dezavantajati au nevoie de un sprijin deosebit pe parcursul trainingului vocational, asadar insusirea competentelor cheie pentru si prin mobilitate trebuie sa se faca in functie de nevoile fiecarui individ in parte. Prin folosirea acestui sprijin individualizat, a strategiei de training pt tineri dezavantajati si a trainingului special pt mobilitate in ceea ce priveste tinerii dezavantajati, proiectul urmareste sa asigure acestor tineri noi competente si indemanari cruciale pentru piata europeana a muncii.
Tinerii dezavantajati, care intampina dificultati in scoala si/sau probleme sociale, precum si tinerii emigranti au nevoie de sprijin special pentru un inceput de succes in cariera. Pentru ca Europa sa poata face fata provocarilor, are nevoie de forta de munca europeana calificata si mobila, care sa lucreze intr-o Europa in care barierele ce stau in calea mobilitatii au fost invinse. In ceea ce priveste tinerii dezavantajati, aceste bariere apar din cauza absentei unor competente cheie importante pentru mobilitate si pentru piata muncii.
Asadar, principalele obiective, scopuri ale proiectului sunt:
-sa asigure tinerilor dezavantajati competente vocationale cruciale pt integrarea pe piata muncii/si in traininguri viitoare
-dezvoltarea unui modul de practica pt profesori, tutori, tineri muncitori care sa ofere suport si sa pregateasca tinerii pt mobilitate in cadrul general al trainingului vocational prin transferul si adaptarea celor mai bune practici de la ESF
-imbunatatirea conditiilor pt mobilitate din partea inst educationale si nu numai
-explorarea posibilitatii de a certifica acest modul de training drept un modul aditional pt profesori
Consortiul de proiect este un parteneriat divers constituit din organizatii din Europa reprezentand diferite aspecte ale trainingului vocational si educational, avand un interes comun fata de tinerii dezavantajati. Consortiul intruchipeaza diferite nivele teritoriale si profesionale.

Rezultatul cheie al proiectului este modulul de training „Cheie pentru mobilitate”, constand in:
1)sprijin individualizat si strategie de training (masuri: stabilirea profilului si apreciere; contact cu piata muncii; training de calificare pe piata muncii prin dobandirea unor competente cheie)
2) calificarea de „trainer de mobilitate”
3) training de mobilitate pentru tinerii dezavantajati

Prin intermediul proiectului profesorii vor fi mai bine instruiti pentru a oferi studentilor dezavantajati sprijinul adecvat pe perioada trainingului, ajutandu-i sa isi dezvolte competentele cheie. Studentii dezavantajati vor castiga o mai buna intelegere a propriilor indemanari si competente. Dupa ce vor fi primit sprijinul specific, nivelul ridicat al competentelor cheie le va permite sa se integreze mai bine si mai usor pe piata muncii.

ClujOver the last two years, Cluj, in northern Transylvania, has become strongly associated with contemporary painting, with the so-called Cluj School being compared to similarly productive periods in Leipzig and Dresden. While this label is seen by many as unrepresentative, it has helped focus international attention on the city, which has gained prominence over Romania’s capital, Bucharest. ElectroSmog – International Festival for Susteinable Immobility

ElectroSmogElectroSmog is a new festival that explores the concept ‘Sustainable Immobility’ in theory and practice. Sustainable Immobility is first of all a critique of the growing global crisis of mobility. Current forms of hyper-mobility of people and products in travel and transport are  ecologically increasingly unsustainable. The will to slow down, however, seems thoroughly absent. The economic crisis may have temporarily slowed matters down, long term projections still point towards exponential growth of worldwide mobility and exploding energy needs.  Alternatives for the current state of hyper-mobility need to be designed urgently.

About the Festival:

The exploration of Sustainable Immobility is a quest for a lifestyle less determined by speed and constant mobility. A lifestyle that celebrates stronger links to local cultures, while at the same time deepening our connections to others across any geographical divide by means of new communication technologies, instead of physical travel.

The ElectroSmog festival will engage one of the main promises information age: that communication technologies can replace the need for physical mobility and thereby contribute directly to ecological stability. Our increased tele-connections would lead to a more rewarding deep local lifestyle (homework in the electronic cottage) and to richer connected experiences with the rest of the world (the global village). While these promises have existed since the dawn of the information age, they were never fully realised. The  expanding mobility and energy crisis requires us, however, to re-examine these promises and find out how to turn them into viable life-style choices.

ElectroSmog will not take the underlying premises of the information age for granted. We want to ask questions such as:
Are increased electronic connections truly more energy efficient and ecologically sustainable?
Do they lead to new forms of  electromagnetic pollution (electrosmog)?
How can the revitalisation of the local be combined with a responsible global consciousness?
How can remote connections become a truly rewarding experience in and of themselves?

Technology alone is never the answer. We are looking for both technological and non-technological solutions to the central question of the festival: How can a sustainably immobile way of life be achieved?

Bringing Together a Broad Coalition:
The ElectroSmog festival brings together a broad coalition of designers, environmentalists, urban and spatial planners, technologists, artists, theorists, and engaged and concerned citizens, to explore and ‘design’ sustainable immobility.

ElectroSmog is a truly international festival, with everything you might expect: international debates and discussions, performances, art projects, exhibits, site specific projects, screenings, a design competition, and more.  ElectroSmog stakes its claim for a radical break with the current systems of hyper-mobility not simply by discussing the issue, but by actually implementing it.

No Travel Allowed!
Connecting the Local Off-Line with the International On-Line:

The very concept of an international festival and its traditional conventions has been rethought and redesigned from the ground up. This has lead us to a few basic ground rules that will apply for all festival events:
- No presenter will travel beyond their local or regional boundaries to participate in this event.
- All festival events will always take place in at least two locations connected in real-time.
- A crucial dimension of the festival will be its on-line presence, where audiences from basically anywhere with an internet connection can follow events on-line, join in discussions and debates, visit virtual theatres in metaverses such as second life, and contribute to the program.

A network of accomplished cultural and new media centres, labs, theatres and other public venues work together to create the local ‘hubs’ that will inter-connect on-line for the festival.

Beyond the Broadband Enclaves:
ElectroSmog acknowledges from the start that bandwidth is not equally distributed across and within societies. Therefore remote connection to lower bandwidth spaces, do-it-yourself telematics, and information technologies for the majority world will be one the central concerns the festival will address.

International Design Competition

ElectroSmog has initiated its own design competition for young designers, artists, students, and professionals to come up with design scenario’s, life-style proposals, prototypes or demo-designs for sustainable immobility.

The competition invites proposals, scenario studies, demos, prototypes or other innovative ideas to in response to the question: How can we design sustainable immobility?

The winner will be awarded eternal fame and a fully equipped residency, generously hosted by the Banff New Media Institute, to execute her or his ideas.

Technology Transfer and Content Follow-up:

ElectroSmog will make extensive use of existing and open source technologies that will be integrated in a re-useable web environment, developed in collaboration with the Cool Mediators Foundation and De Balie in Amsterdam.
The technical processes will be documented in a post-festival documentation workshop organised with the innovative Floss Manuals organisation, resulting in a freely downloadable manual and a print on demand publication available from the Floss Manuals website.
The outcomes of the discussions, debates and theoretical seminars will lead to an international follow-up publication, currently under negotiation and planned for the Fall of 2010.

THE PROGRAM
The School of Visual Arts MFA program in documentary filmmaking provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of nonfiction filmmaking, as well as an immersion into the critical and analytical processes necessary to conceptualize and develop significant, socially relevant film projects. This program represents the convergence of journalism, social activism and the art of filmmaking.

Within the broad spectrum, a documentary film can be personal, revolutionary, engaging, funny, political and more; simply put, social documentary films tell us more about ourselves and the world we inhabit. Working with documentarians at the top of their field as teachers and mentors in a collaborative think-tank environment, the
MFA Documentary Film program at SVA will not only teach students how to tell a story; it will guide them towards lifelong careers in filmmaking.

The first year of study offers a core curriculum devoted to exploring the past, present and future of the art of documentary film while mastering tools and techniques needed to tell compelling stories. In the first year each student will complete a few documentary shorts.
During the entire second year the student focuses on their thesis film, and courses are designed to support them in their production.
Each student will direct and edit his or her own thesis film and serve as a key production crewmember on at least one other thesis project.

FACULTY
Core courses in directing, producing, editing, visionary journalism, cinematography and sound are taught by some of the most significant filmmakers in documentary today. FACILITY
The department is located in the heart of Manhattan on 21st Street and 6th Avenue, and houses an HD theater, two additional classrooms/work rooms, state of the art editing suites, a film and text library and voice over recording room. In addition to the department space, each student has access to the latest HD video cameras, lighting and sound equipment.

Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent organizeaza un curs de Design editorial, incepand cu data de 27 ianuarie 2010.
Design editorial urmareste aplicarea designului grafic pe forme de intindere mare, atat in jurnalism, cat si pentru realizarea unor produse precum – rapoarte anuale, documente de business, brosuri, carti, publicatii electronice etc.

Cursul se adreseaza persoanelor familiarizate cu designul grafic, dar si celor interesati de subiect si care vor sa se perfectioneze. El va fi condus de Raymond Bobar, Art Director la “Men’s Health”, designer al revistei de fotografie “Punctum” si unul din fondatorii proiectului “Decat o Revista”.

Cursul se va desfasura la sediul CJI in zilele de miercuri, de la 18.00 la 20.00, pe parcursul a 10 sedinte saptamanale. Taxa de participare este de 400 RON si se se poate achita in maximum 5 rate, incepand cu prima sedinta a cursului.
Pentru inscriere va rugam trimiteti un CV si o scrisoare de intentie in care sa va motivati dorinta de a participa.
