Cand esti „pe felie”

l_recordCum e de fapt? Stii sa te proiectezi in viitor, esti un proiectil indreptat catre o tinta sigura, sau nu faci altceva decat sa ramai ancorat in realitatea imediata care te leagana? Cum era, noaptea e cel mai bun sfetnic al tau si ma gandesc ca-n intimitatea aia care te inconjoara de la prea putine lumini, personalitatile tale se dezamorseaza, ramai un fleac de om, iar sentimentele tale sunt un big-bang intre cei patru pereti ai camerei.

O lumina palpaie in josul camerei. Am numarat pana acum zece oameni de care am scapat, cu tine unul singur am mai ramas. Dar na, nu sunt decat ganduri pe piesa „Put you out”, de la The Record Summer ( se si downloadeaza). Pesemne ca o muzica ca asta poate sa te duca pana departe in cotloanele mintii tale. Si sa nu mai aud pe nimeni ca nu-i asa. Ma uit la mine de sus in jos si vad urme de-ale tale.

First electronic “noises” Ioan ever made came from a demo version of ReBirth (somewhere around 1998) and he found this activity to be quite an enjoyable way of pissing off his neighbours in the spare time, considering his love for Prodigy-inspired beats and sounds.

However, things turned a bit more serious a year later, when, after watching a documentary about the rave culture in Western Europe and US, he decided it would be idea to build an analog synthesizer himself. He never did that so far, but all that research took him deep into understanding sound synthesis and processing.

And then… the breakthrough !
A friend showed up one night in 2002 with a recorded music video of Autechre – Gantz Graf. Reactions turned from “WTF?!?” to “Dude, this is interesting !” to “OMG I love it, do you have more of this shit ?!!!”. From there, things went on pretty straight-forward.

Just to make things clear, the name “Cycler” was chosen before Ioan develloped a passion for mountain-biking, and it has something to do with loops / cycles.

Cultural Flea Market – “Food”

Targ de VechituriOberliht association is organizing another Cultural Flea Market on September 11, 2010 with the theme of FOOD. The FLAT SPACE will be open from 4 to 8pm to share and exchange food and all sort of things related to food. You are also invited to FLAT SPACE to experiment some of your best recipes. So as everybody can enjoy and share food, you are invited to bring with you at least some ingredients to prepare simple dishes or drinks (for example fruits and vegetables for smoothies and cocktails) or already cooked dishes (feel free to cook your favorite cake) that you could share with the other participants.

Come together with your friends and make a proposal to cook something at FLAT SPACE. You can also make your own proposal about how would you like to participate in this Cultural Flea Market: if you have some material to cook or any kind of idea to improve the event, let us know.

We plan to have a barbecue so you are more than welcome to bring some meat, fish or whatever that can be grilled. We are also looking for someone who could provide a grill.

The Cultural Flea Market is a cultural event very similar to a flea market, but on this Cultural Flea Market you can only exchange or share, so no use of money. Every Cultural Flea Market has its own theme, and the things that will be exchanged or shared should stay within the proposed theme.

Following last year’s success, the exhibition project “Playing the City” 2 once again presents a wide range of artistic activities in public space, involving the city and its inhabitants in a variety of ways. From 8 to 26 September 2010, central Frankfurt will see new actions taking place daily, from performances to installations to “guerrilla actions”. At the heart of the project lies an intense
debate about public space and the “participatory turn” within contemporary art. Around 20 collaborative and participatory works are planned, some specially conceived for the project, by Nina Beier, Clarina Bezzola, Julien Bismuth, Clegg & Guttmann, Cosalux, Christoph
Faulhaber, For Use / Numen, Swetlana Gerner, Josef Loretan, Jan Lotter, Annika Lundgren, Lee Mingwei, Ivan Moudov, Paola Pivi, Plural Art Collective feat, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Reactor,
Leonid Tishkov, Gavin Turk and Vanja Vukovic. In parallel a project office, the “Zentrale”, will be set up in the Schirn’s exhibition spaces, from where the project team will pursue its work in public, fine-tuning the website, answering questions on the exhibition, and organising and documenting all the activities. “Playing the City” 2 can
also be followed via the internet, in a digital extension of public space. The website developed for the project, http://www.playingthecity.de, assembles all the latest videos, texts and visual material, an exhibition calendar and a blog, and will also be networked beyond the physical venues via numerous social media networks. It is thus a
catalogue, exhibition forum and platform for discussion all in one.

“Playing the City” 2 opens up public space as a collective, free arena that can be moulded, that questions its boundaries, and that involves its inhabitants. The site-specific actions take place within a time-limited framework in which they are produced and can be experienced, and in which production and reception are closely connected. The traditional definitions of a work and of its authorship are negated: both terms that have been questioned since the 1960s, not least through action art. Many of the works developed for “Playing the City” 2 can only be realised through the involvement of the public; whether they are actions that provoke fortuitous street confrontations
or sculptures that invite use. But at the very least they are intended to create a confrontation and a dialogue with the – sometimes randomly generated – audience, and to transform public space into a playing field with rules that are tested collaboratively. Can the public space really be taken as a place of different opinions and voices? What constitutes public opinion? What do we understand by public space? These are some of the questions raised by the “Playing the City” 2 project.

The concept that Playing the City 2 realises, on various levels, is a continuation of the ideas of the major avant-garde movements of the twentieth century. In the early twentieth century, the Dada movement rejected “conventional” art and art forms as well as bourgeois ideals, taking to the street instead. It is also worth mentioning Guy Debord’s
Situationism, which 50 years later still has a strong influence on the contemporary art scene, notably on “Public Art”, and which has inspired theoreticians such as Michel de Certeau to define space as a “practised place” and to locate its significance in the activities taking place within it. The urban researcher Armando Silva argues similarly, differentiating the city into the architectural fact and a performance consisting of human interactions. For artists of so-called relational aesthetics, processes such as intersubjectivity and interaction are both the starting and endpoints of their artistic work. According to Nicolas Bourriaud, the utopian potential in developing artistic spaces in this way lies in being able to provide alternative forms of sociality, critique and happiness. They have all turned away from the transformative potential of grand narratives, and instead see opportunity for change in the direct encounter with people.

Playing the City 2 offers a look into the wide varieties of current participatory and collaborative art: one large-scale installation by the Austrian-Croatian design collective For Use / Numen fills the architecture of the Schirn with a walk-in cocoon of transparent adtape. Since the installation can be experienced and entered, it becomes a fixed component and can be used as such by the inhabitants of public space. The installation by artist duo Michael
Clegg & Martin Guttmann, “Open Debate Station, Frankfurt”, questions the structure and function of public debates. They design a discussion platform that, through fixed furniture and established rules of play, becomes a place for a public, structured and fair exchange of opinions. In this work, the two artists refer both to the tradition of
Talmudic interpretation and to the history of the Frankfurt School. The Italian artist Paola Pivi will engineer unexpected situations on Frankfurt public transport as part of her work: during rush hour, an individual actor first starts to sing a song, and then gradually – apparently at random – more musicians will join in, singing or playing instruments, thereby disrupting the everyday situation of a silent trip by bus or tram.

The title of Annika Lundgren’s project, “The Stock Is Rising”, is a historical reference to a 1967 action, in which a group of 20,000 peace demonstrators led by Abbie Hoffmann gathered before the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and sang loudly to drive evil spirits from the building, as part of a protest against the Vietnam War. The action planned by Lundgren for Playing the City 2 is a response to the international financial crisis and will start by publishing
information on the website www.stockisrising.com about the action, about Abbie Hoffman, about levitation as a form of parapsychological practice in which the pure force of thought overcomes the gravity of objects, and about the financial crisis. On 21 September 2010, between 15:00 and 17:35, participants in the action will gather in front of the Alte Börse (former stock exchange) in Frankfurt, and make the building hover. This action will be networked worldwide via the website.

Protest, pentru Mihai Viteazu

Statuia lui Mihai Viteazul
Dupa cum am aratat aici, in aceste zile are loc o agresiune fata de statuile de la Universitate care reprezinta un patrimoniu inestimabil al Bucurestiului si un reper important pentru locuitorii acestui oras.

Va invitam miercuri, 8 septembrie, la ora 16.00, in dreptul statuii lui Mihai Viteazu de la Universitate la un protest fata de acest abuz. Pana acum si-au anuntat prezenta domnul Liviu Mihaiu, dar si unii specialisti in patrimoniu sau reprezentanti ai unor organizatii neguvernamentale.

Statuia lui Heliade Radulescu, realizata de marele sculptor italian Ettore Ferrara, deja a fost dislocata si mutata in Parcul Izvor. Simpla mutare a statuilor presupune insa un risc major pentru acestea iar proiectul parcarii subterane inca nu a fost facut public.

Nu se stie daca si pana la ce data statuile urmeaza sa fie aduse inapoi si daca acea parcare va avea si o portiune supraterana ocupand astfel, in parte, zona in care au fost dispuse initial cele patru statui. Nu au fost prezentate garantii ferme ca statuile de la Universitate vor fi rearanjate exact in modul in care sunt dispuse acum fara nici un fel de interferente din partea parcarii ce urmeaza a fi realizate.

Trebuie spus si ca pentru acest proiect nu a fost initiata o dezbatere publica, lucru care contravine Legii nr. 52/2003 si care face astfel nule de drept toate avizele date. Pretutindeni in lumea civilizata parcarile subterane se fac fara a afecta patrimoniul cultural, istoric si arhitectural.

Daca ar fi fost vorba de un proiect pentru o parcare subterana si atat, lucrarile s-ar fi putut efectua ca in cazul celor pentru metrou, adica in subteran, nu la suprafata. Spatiul ocupat de statui reprezinta mai putin de 10% din zona alocata parcarii, astfel ca eventualele sapaturi necesare constructiei s-ar fi putut face in alte locuri, nu exact unde sunt statuile.

Uniunea Arhitectilor din Romania a reactionat critic fata de dislocarea statuilor, dar protestul acestei organizatii prestigioase nu a fost luat in seama.

Ansamblul statuilor de la Universitate este cel mai important din capitala iar afectarea lui inseamna saracirea si mai mult a acestui oras agresat de administratiile publice atat in perioada comunista, cat si, iata, in cei 20 de ani scursi din decembrie 1989.

Targ Cultural de Vechituri – Mancare

Targ cultural de vechituriPe 11 septembrie 2010 Asociatia Oberliht din Republica Moldova, organizeaza un nou Tirg Cultural de Vechituri cu tema Mancare. APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS va fi accesibil intre 16:00-20:00 unde se va putea face schimb de bucate si alte lucruri in relatie cu mincarea. Totodata te invitam sa experimentezi cu cele mai neordinare retete pe care le cunosti. Ca fiecare sa poata gusta si oferi bucatele aduse te invitam sa aduci cu tine niste ingridiente din care sa pregatesti bucate si bauturi (spre exemplu legume pentru gustari sau fructe pentru cotailuri) sau bucate deja preparate pe care sa le poti oferi celorlalti participanti.

Invita-ti prietenii si propuneti sa gatiti ceva la APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS, fie poti veni cu propunerea ta personala cum ai dori sa participi la acest Targ Cultural: orice alta propunere este binevenita.

Avem in plan sa facem foc la gratar pentru frigarui astfel incit poti aduce si carne, peste sau produse care pot fi preparate pe foc. Totodata sintem in cautarea unui gratar.

Tirgul Cultural de Vechituri se aseamana cu o piata de vechituri insa noi incurajam schimbul fara ca sa se faca uz de bani. Fiecare eveniment din cadrul Tirgului Cultural de Vechituri are o tema si lucrurile care sint propuse la tirg trebuie sa corespunda temei. Scopul târgului nu este de a vinde, ci de a face schimb.

Furt la Piata Obor

Piata OborLa inceputul anului 2007, primarul Ontanu anunta proiectul de modernizare al Pietei Obor in parteneriat public privat cu un grup de firme controlate in mare parte de Puiu Popoviciu: S. C. Practic S.A., S.C. Procema, S.C. Baneasa Investments S.A., S.C. Comnord S.A. Cu aceasta ocazie, a promis producatorilor si comerciantilor din piata ca va pastra nemodificate preturile de inchiriere pentru tarabe si spatii comerciale.

Printr-un contract din 15 ianuarie 2007, se semna contractul de parteneriat public-privat intre Consiliul Local al Sectorului 2 si grupul celor 4 firme. Consiliul Local punea la dispozitie pentru 49 de ani cele 4 hectare ale Pietei Obor, firmele se obligau sa construiasca, urmand ca profiturile din exploatare sa fie impartite, un procent de 12% revenind Consiliului Local.

In 2008 s-a demolat fosta Piata Obor, iar producatorii si comerciantii au fost mutati in niste constructii provizorii. Pe locatia fostei Piete Obor a fost construit un imobil cu subsol, parter si 2 etaje. A fost realizata structura cladirii, in acest moment se lucreaza la compartimentarea interioara.

Producatorii si comerciantii au fost invitati la negocieri pentru inchiriere de tarabe si spatii comerciale in noua cladire. Iata care sunt preturile, fata de promisiunile lui Ontanu din 2007:

a) In 2007 pretul de inchiriere al unei tarabe de 1,20 mp era de 7,5 RON/zi. In acelasi pret, producatorii aveau un spatiu de depozitare langa si sub taraba. In 2010, pretul pentru o taraba de 0,9 mp este de 30 RON/zi. In plus, producatorii sunt obligati sa depoziteze marfurile la subsol, cu un pret de 5 euro / mp. In total, pretul de taraba a crescut de la 7,5 RON la aprox 50 RON/zi.

b) In 2007 pretul de inchiriere al spatiilor comerciale era de 10 euro/luna. In 2010, comerciantilor li se propun la negocieri preturi intre 60 si 90 euro/luna. In plus, li se cere comerciantilor sa plateasca in avans pe 6 luni si sa suporte costul amenajarilor interioare.

Cu alte cuvinte, bucurestenii care se aprovizioneaza din Piata Obor vor suporta diferentele de pret, diferente care vor merge in buzunarele lui Puiu Popoviciu.

Pentru a forta producatorii si comerciantii sa accepte noile conditii, Primarul Sectorului 2 a emis vineri 3 septembrie 2010 autorizatia de desfiintare nr. 61625 pentru toate constructiile din Piata Obor, mai putin Hala Obor si noua constructie. Tot pe 3 septembrie, a notificat comerciantii ca va demola toate aceste constructii incepand cu  8 septembrie 2010. Atasam o notificare.

Autorizatia de desfiintare 61625 din 3 septembrie 2010 a fost emisa ilegal de Primarul Sectorului 2. Conform art. 4 alin. (1) lit. c) pct. 2 din Legea constructiilor 50/1991, intrucat Piata Obor se afla in zona de protectie a monumentului istoric Piata Obor, autorizatia de desfiintare trebuia emisa de Primarul General, nu de Primarul de Sector.

In acest moment, doar Prefectul poate opri demolarile, atacand autorizatia de desfiintare emisa ilegal in instanta de contencios administrativ. In aceste conditii, conform legii, autorizatia se suspenda de drept pana la sfarsitul procesului.

Reamintim ca impotriva proiectului din Piata Obor sunt deschise doua procese la Tribunalul Bucuresti:

a) Dosarul 21543./3/2007 deschis de Asociatia Frontul Negustoresc Obor impotriva Consiliului Local al Sectorului 2, prin care se cere anularea contractului de parteneriat public-privat. Azi 8 septembrie are loc un termen in acest dosar.

b) Dosarul 13171/3/2010 deschis de Asociatia Frontul Negustoresc Obor impotriva Consiliului Local al Sectorului 2 si a Primarului Sectorului 2, in care se cere anularea PUD-ului si a autorizatiei de construire in baza careia se construieste noua constructie din Piata Obor.

In ambele dosare, Asociatia Salvati Bucurestiul si Fundatia Eco-Civica vor face cereri de interventie.

Tribunalul Bucuresti va judeca in procedura de urgenta, maine 8 septembrie de la ora 12, cererea Asociatiei Frontul Negustoresc Obor de suspendare a lucrarilor de demolare a constructiilor din Piata Obor. Lucrarile de demolare ar urma sa inceapa maine 8 septembrie (si nu azi, asa cum am scris din greseala in comunicatul precedent). In sedinta de azi 7 septembrie (si nu 8 septembrie cum am scris din greseala in comunicatul precedent) Tribunalul Bucuresti a admis cererile de interventie ale Asociatiei Salvati Bucurestiul si ale Fundatiei Eco-Civica in procesul care are ca obiect anularea parteneriatului public-privat din Piata Obor. Urmatorul termen a fost fixat pentru 21 septembrie.

Stefan cel Mare eto Lenin (Chisinau / Rep. Moldova)

ChisinauIn cadrul “Chisinau-Arta, Cercetare in Sfera Publica” artista Flo Kasearu va prezenta proiectul “Stefan cel Mare eto Lenin”. Proiectul se refera la trecutul, prezentul si viitorul istoriei si memoriei strazilor din Chisinau. Denumirile mai multor strazi din oras au fost modificate nu mai putin de 5 ori de-a lungul
istoriei in functie de discursul ideologic promovat de regimul politic instalat la putere. Indentitatile multiple a locuitorilor Moldovei sunt si ele la randul lor un reper important in acest demers. Protagonistii acestei investigari au fost intrebati sa indice o destinatie sau alta folosind denumirea strazilor existente si celor care au existat in perioada socialista inainte de schimbarile politice survenite in 89, dar si a celor care ar putea exista in viitor. Astfel cu sprijinul locuitorilor din Chisinau sa ajuns la o suita de atitudini si opinii viz-a-vis de trecutul, prezentul si viitorul orientarii identitare a populatiei si statului Republica Moldova.

Proiectul “Chisinau-Arta, Cercetare in Sfera Publica” are ca scop explorarea discursurilor institutionale si politice dominante care au modelat societatea si peisajul urban al Chisinaului pe parcursul istoriei recente.
Proiectul este activat sub forma unei platforme multidisciplinare care si-a propus investigarea conexiunilor dintre simbolurile politice si propaganda, la fel si impactul acestora asupra mediului urban, interrelatia dintre istoriile personale si discursul ideologic in raport cu sfera publica.
