Romanian language classes for foreigners in Bucharest
If you want to study Romanian for your business, for your job or for fun, the language courses given by the Romanian Cultural Institute are the right choice!
Applications can now be submitted for 2010 courses, for the following modules (series): 4th series: September 1st – September 30th (deadline August 25th). Intensive course: 3h x 3 = 9 h/week; 5th series: October 12nd – December 9th (deadline October 5th)
Courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners at all modules!
The study groups comprise 8-12 students.
Duration: 36 study hours
Regular courses (1st, 2nd and 5th series): Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM (9 weeks)
Intensive courses (3rd and 4th series): Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 PM to 9 PM (4 weeks)
Location: “Alexandru Vlahuta” Secondary School, 5 Scoala Floreasca St., Bucharest (Piata Dorobanti area).
Costs: 850 RON or 200 Euros.
Payment conditions:
The fee must be received before the deadline for the application. Please write the applicant’s name on all the documents relating to bank transfer. All bank charges are the responsibility of the applicant.

In order assess the knowledge in Romanian language of those enrolled, they will be given a language test before the beginning of the courses and will be placed in groups according to the evaluation of these tests.
Conditions for withdrawal from the course:
• If you inform the ICR team in writing, before the course starts, we will be able to refund you the course fee, minus an administrative charge of 10%.
• If you inform the ICR team in writing, before the 12th of the total of 36 classes of the course, you will get a credit report and will be reimbursed for the costs of the remaining unattended classes minus 25% of this amount, charged as administrative costs.
• No credits are reimbursed after the 12th class.
Instructors:
Ana Borca holds a PhD in Romanian philology from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters. Initially raised and educated in the historical Maramures (a region that belongs nowadays to Ukraine), Ana is a specialist in teaching Romanian without using any other language, by emerging the students in a „linguistic bath”. A former journalist, she also taught Romanian Language at the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi Institute (Center) for the Romanians Living Abroad and she has been teaching Romanian for foreigners for 6 years now. Presently she also coordinates the Language Courses Program at the Romanian Cultural Institute.
Ilinca Busurca graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, specialization Russian Language and Literature – Romanian Language and Literature. She graduated the Master on Russian Cultural Studies and Business Communication and the second Master “Culture and Mentality in the European Integration of Romanians”. Ilinca Busurc? works at the Department for Students’ Services from the University of Bucharest and she taught Romanian Language at the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi Institute (Center) for the Romanians Living Abroad. She has a qualification as a trainer and she has a 6 years experience in teaching Romanian language for foreigners.
Gabriela Stoica graduated from the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, Romanian Language and Literature and Latin Language and Literature and the Master on “The structure and the evolution of Romanian language”. She is in the sixth year of doctoral studies in linguistics, historical semantics field. She is a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, department of Romanian language, where she has 6 years experience in teaching Romanian as foreign language. She also work as a researcher at the “Iorgu Iordan – Al. Rosetti” Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy of Sciences, department of Romance Linguistics.
Ioana Vasiloiu graduated from the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, Romanian-French section, the Master on Modern Literature and the Master on Cultural Anthropology at the same faculty. Ioana holds a Ph.D. in Romanian literature from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters. She taught Romanian Language for foreigners at the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi Institute (Center) for the Romanians from everywhere and Romanian Literature at the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest. She also collaborates with the Center of Cultural Anthropology, from the University of Bucharest, currently she is scientific researcher to the National Museum of Romanian Literature.
Carmen Vasile graduated from the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, Romanian Language and Literature and French Language and Literature, graduated the Master on “Contemporary Romanian language: structures and communication strategies”. She is now in her third year of study at the Doctoral school of the same faculty. She worked as book editor, reader, etc., currently she is a researcher at the “Iorgu Iordan – Al. Rosetti” Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy of Sciences.
